This community social and youth panel event will feature several young adults sharing their journeys navigating homelessness, finding community, and building independence.
Event night details
Focused on amplifying young voices, this night will feature several young adults who have utilized TGTHR programs. Join us to hear from them, connect with friends of TGTHR, and gain a deeper understanding of the realities many young people face when navigating housing instability.

Light snacks and refreshments will be provided. Attendance is free and open to all because these powerful stories deserve to be heard. Donations are encouraged to help provide housing, resources, and services to young people. Every dollar raised helps transform lives.
The facts about youth homelessness:
- 4.2 million young people experience homelessness each year.
- 1 in 30 youth (13-17 years of age) will endure some form of homelessness in year = 700,000 per year.
- 1 in 10 transitional age youth (18-24 years of age) will endure some form of homelessness in a year = 3.5 million per year.
- 40% of homeless youth identify as LGBTQ+ and state family rejection on the basis of their LGBTQ+ identity as the #1 contributing factor to homelessness.
- Within 48 hours of leaving home, 30% of youth will be recruited for human trafficking.
- 35% of youth who experience homelessness were formerly in the foster care system.
- Youth facing homelessness are 3x more likely to attempt suicide, 4x more likely to contract STI’s, and 10x more likely to drop out of school than their stably housed peers.
