Research shows that the most critical time to prevent chronic homelessness is between the ages of 18 and 24. Low-barrier housing for young adults experiencing homelessness, coupled with supportive services, increases housing stability and promotes positive outcomes in employment, education, and well-being. TGTHR’s housing programs put young people on a path toward long-term stability and help prevent them from re-experiencing homelessness.
No, TGTHR is strictly the service provider at 1440 Pine. The property management company handles all the leasing, building maintenance, and building security. TGTHR only provides supportive services for tenants living in the building.
One of the most significant barriers that young people experiencing homelessness face on their road to recovery is a lack of affordable housing options. Recognizing this gap, in 2015 TGTHR began partnering with experienced affordable housing developers to create affordable housing communities with services dedicated to young people who are experiencing homelessness.
The supportive services offered are informed by the experiences and expertise of the young people that we serve to support tenants on their path to housing stability; which is a critical and necessary component of a successful transition into adulthood for any young person.
